Cookie Policy
Last updated: 19 April 2026 · Pilot release · Draft pending counsel review
The short version
- We use only the cookies we genuinely need to keep you signed in and to spot bugs.
- We don’t use advertising cookies, social-media trackers, or any third-party analytics.
- You can decline non-essential cookies via the banner at the bottom of any public page.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website places on your device. They’re used to remember things between visits — for example, that you’ve already signed in. The UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require us to be clear about which cookies we set and why, and to get your consent before setting any non-essential ones.
What we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in between page loads | Essential | Session (cleared on logout) |
| Theme preference | Remembers your light/dark mode choice (uses localStorage, not a cookie) | Essential | Until cleared by you |
| Accessibility settings | Remembers dyslexia font, reduced motion, high contrast (localStorage, not a cookie) | Essential | Until cleared by you |
| Sentry telemetry | First-party error tracking — helps us spot bugs. Records technical errors, not your behaviour. | Non-essential | ~14 days |
| evx-cookie-consent | Remembers your choice on the consent banner (localStorage, not a cookie) | Essential | Until cleared by you |
Cookies we don't use
- Advertising cookies — we don’t serve ads.
- Third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.) — we don’t track you across the web.
- Social-media share trackers — share buttons, if any, are built so they don’t fire until you actually click.
- Personalisation cookies for marketing — we have nothing to personalise to you commercially.
How to manage cookies
